For the past two weeks Ali Samadi Ahadi’s children’s book adaptation MOONBOUND has been running in French theaters and has remained among the top 4 in the box office charts.

Previously MOONBOUND had already generated impressive numbers in other territories. In Poland, since its release on December 2nd, it has attracted approximately 68,000 viewers, while in Turkey, nearly 110,000 viewers watched the animated adaptation of the beloved fairy tale. In Sweden, the film was viewed by 42,000 visitors. In France the fantasy adventure is reaching its peak. with 313,000 viewers during the second weekend.

MOONBOUND was produced as a German-Austrian co-production in collaboration with ZDF and ORF and received support from various German film funding institutions, including MOIN Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein, Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, DFFF, Hessen Film- und Medien, FFF Bayern, Nordmedia, and Creative Europe MEDIA. From Austria the film was supported by ÖFI, Filmfonds Wien, and FISA.
